I watch many movies usually on DVD so thought I would share my opinion of them with you.  Feel free to post your opinions of movies here as well.

Cloverfield

starring Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, T.J. Miller, Michael Stahl-David, Mike Vogel, Odette Yustman, Anjul Nigam, Margot Farley, Theo Rossi, Brian Klugman, Kelvin Yu, Liza Lapira, Lili Mirojnick, Ben Feldman, and Elena Caruso. It was about a monster that was trashing Manhattan as seen through the eyes of a cam corder.
The acting was pretty decent.  The special effects were pretty good.  It was an unusual format that took a little getting used to.  On a scale of 1-5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, slightly above average.

Pineapple Express

Starred Seth Rogen, James Franco, Danny R. McBride, Kevin Corrigan, Craig Robinson, Gary Cole, Rosie Perez, Ed Begley Jr., Nora Dunn, Amber Heard, Joe Lo Truglio, Arthur Napiontek, Cleo King, Bill Hader, and James Remar. About a couple of stoners on the run from some criminals because one of them witnessed a murder.
The acting was mediocre at best.  The writing barely adequate.  The special effects were nothing to write home about.  There was some action and a few humorous scenes.  In my opinion on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent this movie rated a 2 1/2 to 3.  The low end of average.

Babylon A.D.

Starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Yeoh, Mélanie Thierry, Gérard Depardieu, Charlotte Rampling, Mark Strong, Lambert Wilson,  Jérôme Le Banner, Joel Kirby, Souleymane Dicko, David Belle,  Radek Bruna, Jan Unger, Abraham Belaga, and Gary Cowan. It was a futirustic world that a mercenary had be hired to get the job done.  The bad guys did not bank on the merc having honor.
The acting was pretty good.  I thought the special effects were very well done.  There was a lot of action but not a lot of suspense.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a 3 1/2 to 4, above average.  

Without a Paddle

Starring  Matthew Price, Andrew Hampton, Jarred Rumbold,  Carl Snell, Antony Starr, Dax Shepard, Matthew Lillard, Seth Green, Nadine Bernecker, Danielle Cormack, David Stott,  Bonnie Somerville, Scott Adsit, Morgan Reese Fairhead, and  Liddy Holloway.  It was about a couple of friends going into the deep woods to look for a missing girl.
The acting was ok. The writing was fair.  there was some action and it was mildly amusing.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent I feel this movie rates a solid 3, average.

City of Ember

This movie starred David Ryall, Ian McElhinney, Harry Treadaway, Tim Robbins, Bill Murray, B.J. Hogg, Toby Jones,  Lucinda Dryzek, Matt Jessup, Lara McIvor, Myles Thompson,  Eoin McAndrew, Rachel Morton, Conor MacNeill, and Lorraine Hilton. It was about a city built completely underground and the attempt by 3 to make it out.
The acting was decent.  The special effects were pretty good. The writing was not bad.  It was long in spots but did have some action.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a 3 - 3 1/2.  about average.

Lakeview Terrace

Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Patrick Wilson, Kerry Washington, Ron Glass, Justin Chambers, Jay Hernandez, Regine Nehy,  Jaishon Fisher, Robert Pine, Keith Loneker, Caleeb Pinkett,  Robert Dahey, Ho-Jung, Bitsie Tulloch, and Michael Sean Tighe. It was about the neighbor from hell that also happens to be a L.A. police officer.
The acting was good. The writing while decent made the movie a little long in parts.  Overall not a bad movie.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 - 3 1/2.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa

With the voices of Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer,  Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric the Entertainer, Andy Richter, Bernie Mac, Alec Baldwin, Sherri Shepherd, Will i Am, Elisa Gabrielli, Tom McGrath, Chris Miller, and Christopher Knights. It was an animated film about some animals that escape New York and head to Africa.
The animation was well done.  The writing only fair I thought it was somewhat boring.  The ending however was decent.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 3, average.  

American Wedding

Starring Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Alyson Hannigan, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Thomas Ian Nicholas, January Jones,   Eugene Levy, Molly Cheek, Deborah Rush, Fred Willard, Harold Flaherty, Angela Paton, Eric Allan Kramer, Amanda Swisten,  Nikki Schieler Ziering, and Lawrence Pressman. Another in the American pie series about a wedding.
The acting was great.  It had the same nasty raw humor we all love from the American Pie Movies. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent In my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, well above average.

Watchmen

Starring Malin Akerman, Billy Crudup, Matthew Goode, Jackie Earle Haley, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Patrick Wilson , Carla Gugino, Matt Frewer, Stephen McHattie, Laura Mennell, Rob LaBelle, Gary Houston, James M. Connor, Mary Ann Burger,  and John Shaw. Was about a team of superheros that came out of retirement.
The special effects were very good and in my opinion probably the only decent feature of this movie.  The acting was only fair.  The plot was so so.  The writing was abysmal.  I know this movie is popular but in my opinion on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent this movie only rates a solid 2, below average.

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

Starred Drew Barrymore, Piper Perabo, Andy Garcia, (voice)
George Lopez, (voice), Cheech Marin (voice), Paul Rodriguez (voice), Plácido Domingo (voice), Edward James Olmos (voice), Loretta Devine (voice), Jamie Lee Curtis, Luis Guzmán (voice), Eddie 'Piolin' Sotelo (voice), Carlos Juvera (voice), and
Alex Mendoza (voice).  It was about a spoiled upper crust Chihuahua that got lost and had some adventures.
The acting was well done.  I thought the writing was extremely well done.  Once again Disney comes through.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my view this movie rates a 4 - 4 1/2. Substanially above average.

Electric Mist

starred Tommy Lee Jones, Kelly Macdonald, John Goodman,    Peter Sarsgaard, Mary Steenburgen,Ned Beatty, Justina Machado, Pruitt Taylor Vince, James Gammon , Levon Helm,  John Sayles, Gary Grubbs, Alana Locke, Rio Hackford, Louis Herthum, Buddy Guy, Julio Cedillo, Randy Austin, Samantha Beaulieu, Andrea Frankle, Steve Broussard, Chukwuma Onwuchekwa, Bernard Hocke, Richard Jones, Walter Breaux, Ritchie Montgomery, Damon Lipari, Sandra Leigh Babineaux,  Zach Broussard, Danny Grisaffe, Richard Landry, Adella Gauthier, Greg Guirard, John Wilmot, Cindy Blanchard, Tony Molina Jr., Ryan Rilette, Robert Leblanc , Katie Tull, Matt Naquin, Dennis Paul Williams, Nathan Williams, Herman Brown,  
and Mark A. Williams.  It was about a police officer trying to solve some murders.
The acting was fair.  I felt the writing was sub par.  The special effects were so so.  One word sums up this movie for me BORING.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 2, below average.

Marley and Me

Starring Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Eric Dane, Kathleen Turner, Alan Arkin, Nathan Gamble, Haley Bennett, Clarke Peters, Finley Jacobsen, Lucy Merriam, Bryce Robinson,  
Benjamin Hyland, Sarah O'Kelly, Keith Hudson, and Haley Hudson.  It was about a very misbehaving dog and his effect on a family.
The acting was good.  I felt the writing was poor, the movie bored me.  the ending was decent but sad.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with one being poor and 5 excellent I rate this movie a solid 2, below average.

The Day the earth Stood Still

Starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Kathy Bates, Jaden Smith, John Cleese, Jon Hamm, Kyle Chandler, Robert Knepper, James Hong, John Rothman, Sunita Prasad, Juan Riedinger, Sam Gilroy, Tanya Champoux, and Rukiya Bernard.
It was about an alien that came to earth to save it.
The acting was good.  The special effects I felt were substandard, they did not look very real to me.  The writing was a little below par.  I did not find it overly believable.  Assuming this did happen some aspects of it did not make sense.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent I rate this movie a 2 - 2 1/2, below average.

Quantum of Solace

Starring Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Giancarlo Giannini, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright,   David Harbour, Jesper Christensen, Anatole Taubman, Rory Kinnear, Tim Pigott-Smith, Joaquín Cosio, Fernando Guillén Cuervo, and Jesús Ochoa.  Another in the series of James Bond movies.
I am not a real fan of Daniel Craig as James Bond.  Having said that the acting was ok.  The special effects were awesome, the plot decent.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 3, average.  There was plenty of action but some long parts as well.

Bedtime Stories

Starring Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Guy Pearce, Russell Brand, Richard Griffiths, Teresa Palmer, Lucy Lawless,  Courteney Cox, Jonathan Morgan Heit, Laura Ann Kesling,  Jonathan Pryce, Nick Swardson, Kathryn Joosten, Allen Covert, amd Carmen Electra. It was about a man telling some kids some bedtime stories and they may come true.
It was a cute movie but thats to be expected of Disney films. The acting was decent.  It was fairly well written with a good ending sequence.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a 3 1/2 - 4, above average.  

Twilight

Starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone, Kellan Lutz, Peter Facinelli, Cam Gigandet, Taylor Lautner, Anna Kendrick,  Michael Welch, Christian Serratos, Gil Birmingham, and
Elizabeth Reaser.  It's about a romance between a vampire and a mortal and some of the difficulties that arise.
It was not what I expected though not sure what I did expect.  The acting was good, the special effects were well done.  Parts of it were slow.  There was some action and the writing was adequate.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 - 3 1/2, the high end of average.  

Role Models

Starring Seann William Scott, Paul Rudd, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Bobb'e J. Thompson, Elizabeth Banks, Jane Lynch, Ken Jeong, Ken Marino, Kerri Kenney, A.D. Miles, Joe Lo Truglio,  Matt Walsh, Nicole Randall Johnson, Alexandra Stamler, and
Carly Craig.  It was about a couple of guys who had to do community service in a mentoring program.
The acting was good.  It was funny and fairly well written.  I do feel the ending was a bit on the weak side and could have been stronger. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a 3 1/2 - 4, above average.

Body of Lies

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Mark Strong,  
Golshifteh Farahani, Oscar Isaac, Ali Suliman, Alon Abutbul,   Al-Saleem, Vince Colosimo, Simon McBurney, Mehdi Nebbou,   Michael Gaston, Kais Nashif, Jamil Khoury, Lubna Azabal, and   Ghali Benlafkih.  It was about a couple of American intelligence operatives working in the middle east.
The acting was pretty good.  The special effects were very well done. The writing was fair and while there was some action it was long in parts.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3, average.

Hotel for Dogs

It starred Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, Don Cheadle,  Johnny Simmons, Kyla Pratt, Troy Gentile, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon, Ajay Naidu, Eric Edelstein, Robinne Lee, Yvette Nicole Brown, Andre Ware, Jonathan Klein, and Ruben Garfias. It was about a couple of kids that adopted a few dogs.
The acting was good, the writing was very well done. It is a fun movie suitable for the whole family.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 4, above average.

Body of Lies

X-Men Origins Wolverine

This movie starred Hugh Jackman, Liev Schreiber, Danny Huston, Will i Am, Lynn Collins, Kevin Durand, Dominic Monaghan, Taylor Kitsch, Daniel Henney, Ryan Reynolds,  Scott Adkins, Tim Pocock, Julia Blake, Max Cullen, and Troye Sivan. Anothedr installment of the X-Men series.  
The acting was good.  The special effects were well done.  It was fairly well written with plenty of action. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.

Bride Wars

Starring Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Bryan Greenberg,  Chris Pratt, Steve Howey, Candice Bergen, Kristen Johnston,  Michael Arden, Victor Slezak, Kelly Coffield, John Pankow, Zoe O'Grady, Shannon Ferber, June Diane Raphael, and Charles Bernard. It was about a pair of best friends who happened to get their weddings booked on the same day at the same hall.
The acting was ok.  I did not feel it was well written most of it bored me although the ending was stronger.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my view it rated a 2 1/2 - 3 about average.

Star Trek

Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Ben Cross, Winona Ryder, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Morrison, and Rachel Nichols. Not exactly a sequel more like an alternative prequel to the original Star Trek.
The acting I thought very good.  They captured the essence of the original characters.  Per usual in Star Trek the special effects were awesome.  The writing was pretty decent and there were plenty of action scenes.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a 4 - 4 1/2 substantially above average.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian

Starring Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria,  Robin Williams, Christopher Guest, Alain Chabat, Steve Coogan, Ricky Gervais, Bill Hader, Jon Bernthal, Patrick Gallagher , Jake Cherry, Rami Malek, and Mizuo Peck. The sequel to the movie about museum displays that come to life.
The acting was very good.  The special effects were decent.  It was fairly well written and it was an enjoyable movie.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 4 - 4 1/2, above average.

Paul Blart Mall Cop

Starring Kevin James, Keir O'Donnell, Jayma Mays, Raini Rodriguez, Shirley Knight, Stephen Rannazzisi, Peter Gerety,  Bobby Cannavale, Adam Ferrara, Jamal Mixon, Adhir Kalyan,  Erick Avari, Gary Valentine, Allen Covert, and Mike Vallely. It was about a mall security guard that was put into a situation he was ill prepared for.
The acting was very good.  The special effects were well done.  It was somewhat amusing with plenty of action.  I felt it was well written.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 4 to 4 1/2, above average.

Attack of the Sabertooth

Starring Robert Carradine, Nicholas Bel, Brian Wimmer, Stacy Haiduk, Rawiri Paratene, Susanne Sutchy Cleopatra Coleman,  Amanda Stephens, Natalie Avital, Billy Aaron Brown, Parry Shen, Nathaniel Kiwi and Bonnie Piesse. It was about an island where somebody cloned sabertooth tigers (sound familiar?).
Well I picked it up at the $3.99 table at blockbuster and the free market system works I got what I paid for.  The acting was abysmal.  The special effect were horrendous.  There was some cleavage abd plenty of gore.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent I rate this movie a 1 - 1 1/2, poor.

Gran Torino

Starring Clint Eastwood, Christopher Carley, Bee Vang, Ahney Her, Brian Haley, Geraldine Hughes, Dreama Walker, Brian Howe, John Carroll Lynch, William Hill, Choua Kue, Scott Eastwood, and Xia Soua Chang. It was about a not so nice man who befriends some neighbors.
The acting was good.  The plot fairly decent.  It did have some unusual twists.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 - 4, above average.

Taken

Starring Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, Leland Orser, Radivoje Bukvic, Mathieu Busson, Holly Valance, Katie Cassidy, Xander Berkeley, Nicolas Giraud, Maggie Grace, Jon Gries, Marc Amyot, Rubens Hyka, Arben Bajraktaraj, and Camille Japy. They kidnapped the wrong man's daughter in this movie.
The acting was good.  The special effects were well done. There was plenty of action but little suspense.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.

Predator Island

Starring Dan Gordon, Hank Torrance, Libby Krall, Tom Dahl,  Ilana Becker, Michael Wrann, Kevin McCauley, and Sean Gallimore.  It was about some alien predators that came to earth in metors.
The acting was substandard.  The special effects were horrendous.  I would imagine the entire budget for this movie was probably mid 3 figures.  One saving grace is it was short, 75 minutes.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 1 1/2, poor.  The only reason it was not a solid 1 was there was 1 lesbian scene in it.

Pink Panther 2

Starring Steve Martin, Jean Reno, Emily Mortimer, Andy Garcia, Alfred Molina, Yuki Matsuzaki, Aishwarya Rai, John Cleese, Lily Tomlin, Jeremy Irons, Johnny Hallyday, Geoffrey Palmer, Philip Goodwin, Armel Bellec, and Jack Metzger. The 2nd of the pink panther movies with the bumbling inspector
Clouseau.
The acting was good.  The special effects were decent.  I thought it was well written.   On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Michael Gambon, Dave Legeno,    Elarica Gallagher, Jim Broadbent, Geraldine Somerville, Bonnie Wright, Julie Walters, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson,    Helena Bonham Carter, Helen McCrory, Timothy Spall, Alan Rickman, and Oliver Phelps.  The next installment of the Harry Potter movies.
Like the other Potter movies it was long and somewhat dragged out with some intense action scenes mixed in.   The special effects were awesome the writing fairly decent. The acting was well done.  In my opinion on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, above average.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Starring Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Ramon Rodriguez, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, Isabel Lucas, John Benjamin Hickey, Matthew Marsden,  Andrew Howard, Michael Papajohn, Glenn Morshower, and John Eric Bentley. The sequel about the machines war for control of the earth.
Like the first movie it was non stop action from beginning to end.  The special effects were awesome.  A 150 minutes of non stop action.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 4 - 4 1/2.  Well above average.

I agree with all of your ratings except Hancock.  I wood rate that a 5.  Well written, excellent performances, great special. effects

Ah ok well at times I can be harsh

Obsessed

Starred Idris Elba, Beyoncé Knowles, Ali Larter, Jerry O'Connell, Bonnie Perlman, Christine Lahti, Nathan Myers,  Nicolas Myers, Matthew Humphreys, Scout Taylor-Compton ,  Richard Ruccolo, Bryan Ross, Nelson Mashita, Bruce McGill, and Ron Roggé.  It was about a woman who was stalking a married man.
The acting was very good.  The writing was ok.  It was long in parts but the ending was decent.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 - 3 1/2.  In the average range.  

Race to Witch Mountain

Starring Dwayne Johnson, AnnaSophia Robb, Alexander Ludwig, Carla Gugino, Ciarán Hinds, Tom Everett Scott, Chris Marquette, Billy Brown, Garry Marshall, Kim Richards, Ike Eisenmann, Tom Woodruff Jr., Paul Darnell, John Duff, and Bob Koherr. An ex con decides to help a couple of kids gets more than he bargained for.
The acting was good.  The special effects were very well done.  It was well written and like most Disney films can be fun for the whole family. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Starring Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston,   Grégory Fitoussi, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Leo Howard, Karolina Kurkova, Byung-hun Lee, Sienna Miller, David Murray, Rachel Nichols, Kevin J. O'Connor, Gerald Okamura, Ray Park, Jonathan Pryce, Dennis Quaid, Brandon Soo Hoo, Saïd Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Arnold Vosloo, Marlon Wayans,
Chris Akers, Fabrice Baral, Michael Benyaer, Peter Breitmayer,  Michael Broderick, Elena Evangelo, Mark Hames, and Jacques Frantz. It was a film based on the toy GI Joe.
The acting was good.  The special effects were awesome.  It had the usual issues like a major gunbattle in a major city and no police to be found.  But all movies have that overall it was a good movie.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4 slightly above average.

District 9

Starring Sarlto Copley, Jason Cope, Nathalie Boltt, Sylvaine Strike, John Sumner , William Allen Young, Nick Blake, Jed Brophy, Louis Minnaar, Vanessa Haywood, Marian Hooman,  Vittorio Leonardi, Mandla Gaduka, Johan van Schoor, Stella Steenkamp, David James, Kenneth Nkosi, Tim Gordon,  Hlengiwe Madlala , Siyabonga Radebe, Melt Sieberhagen,  
Andre Odendaal, and Nick Boraine. It was a movie in the form of a documentary about the treatment aliens that were apparently shipwrecked on Earth received.
The acting was so-so.  The special effects were fair.  I thought the story line unimaginative.  It was a bit boring in parts. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 2 - 2 1/2, below average. I know it was a popular movie so I imagine I may take heat over this opinion.

New in Town

Starred Renée Zellweger, Harry Connick Jr., Siobhan Fallon,   J.K. Simmons, Mike O'Brien, Frances Conroy, Ferron Guerreiro,  Barbara James Smith, James Durham, Robert Small, Wayne Nicklas, Hilary Carroll, Nancy Drake, Stewart J. Zully, Wallace Miller, and Marilyn Boyle. It was about a woman who was sent from corporate to a plant in a small town to cut jobs.
The acting was good.  The plot was well done.  The writing worked well.  Overall I thought this movie was good.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.  

Last House on the Left

Starring Garret Dillahunt, Michael Bowen, Joshua Cox, Riki Lindhome, Aaron Paul, Sara Paxton, Monica Potter, Tony Goldwyn, Martha MacIsaac, Spencer Treat Clark, and  
Usha Khan. A couple of teens were brutally assaulted and the parents of one of them were not amused and showed their displeasure.
The acting was good.  The special effects were ok but unspectacular.  It was fairly well written and realistic in the peoples reaction to the situation.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, above average.

Outlander

Starring James Caviezel, Sophia Myles, Jack Huston, John Hurt, Cliff Saunders, Patrick Stevenson, Aidan Devine Ron Perlman, Bailey Maughan, John Nelles, James Preston Rogers,  Scott Owen, Petra Prazak, Owen Pattison, and  Matt Cooke. It was about an extraterrestial human that crash landed on earth in 700 AD in Viking territory.  
The acting was fair.  The special effects were substandard.  The plot was ok but the writing was mediocre.  On a scale of 1 tgo 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 2 1/2 ro 3.  Slightly below average.

Bring It On: Fight To The Finish

Starring Christina Milian, Cody Longo, Rachele Brooke Smith,  Holland Roden, Laura Cerón, David Starzyk, Gabrielle Dennis, Meagan Holder, Vanessa Born, Janelle Martinez, Jessica Martinez, Brandon Gonzales, Christopher 'War' Martinez,
and Brittany Carson.  It was the 3rd in the series of movies on the brutal world of cheerleading competition.
Well it did have cleavage but very little else.  The acting was ok.  The writing was weak.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 2 to 2 1/2, below average.

The acting of course was outstanding.  The writing while decent was not worthy of the actors they had.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 - 3 1/2 about average.

The acting was great.  The writing was very well done with a very good ending.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 4 - 4 1/2.  Well above average.

The Proposal

Starring Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Mary Steenburgen,  Craig T. Nelson, Betty White, Denis O'Hare, Malin Akerman,  Oscar Nuñez, Aasif Mandvi, Michael Nouri, Michael Mosley, and
Dale Place. It was about a man and a woman that were entering into a marriage of convenience.
The acting was very good.  The plot and writing were well done.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, above average.

Land of the Lost

Starring  Will Ferrell, Anna Friel, Danny McBride, Jorma Taccone, John Boylan, Matt Lauer, Bobb'e J. Thompson,  Sierra McCormick, Shannon Lemke, and Stevie Wash Jr.. About a group of people that use an invention to travel to a different dimension where the past, present, and future all meet.
The acting was fair.  The writing was substandard.  It was kind of a hokey movie.  In my opinion on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent this movie rates a 2 1/2 - 3.  The low end of average.

State of Play

Starred Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren, Robin Wright Penn, Jason Bateman, Jeff Daniels,  Michael Berresse, Harry Lennix, Josh Mostel, and Michael Weston.  It was about some investigative reporters investigating some murders and finding there is more than meets the eye.
The acting was very good,  The action sequences were believable.  It was well written with interesting twists.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor abd 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a solid 4, above average.

Ice Age: dawn of the Dinosaurs

The animation was well done.  It was written fairly well.  It is a fun movie sutable for the whole family.  On a scale of 1 to 5 in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, above average.

The taking of Pelham 123

Starring Denzel Washington, John Travolta, Luis Guzmán,  Victor Gojcaj, John Turturro, Michael Rispoli, Ramon Rodriguez, James Gandolfini, John Benjamin Hickey, Alex Kaluzhsky,  Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Katherine Sigismund.  It was about some criminals that hijacked a subway and the dispatcher who helped stop it.
The acting was good.  The special effects were decent.  There were some good action sequences that were believable.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.

Timm Sharp, Daniel Polo, Stephen Root, Richard Schiff, Marin Hinkle, Bobb'e J. Thompson, Blake Hightower, Michael McMillian, Catherine McGoohan, James Patrick Stuart, Tonita Castro, and Charlie Koznick. It was about a man that used his daughters imaginary friends for financial market tips.
The acting was good.  Parts of the movie bordered on silly but it had a strong ending.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a 3 - 3 1/2, the high side of average.  

Monsters VS Aliens

With the voices of Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie, Will Arnett, Kiefer Sutherland, Rainn Wilson, Stephen Colbert, Paul Rudd, Julie White , Jeffrey Tambor, and Amy Poehler.  An animated feature film featuring monsters in a battle with aliens to save the Earth.
The animation was excellent.  The story line and writing were decent.  There was a lot of actiion suitable for the whole family.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, above average.

Aliens in the Attic

Simmons.  Was about an advance Alien mission to make way for the conquest of Earth.

It was about a couple that had to spend some time on Christmas with 4 sets of family.
The acting was good,  The writing was ok but I felt the ending was weak.  However it did have some funny parts.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, above average.

Razortooth

Starring Kathleen LaGue, Doug Swander, Matt Holly,  Brandon Breault, Mark Butler, Tim Colceri, Rick Dean, Paul Di Franco,  Josh Gad, Joseph P. Genier, Kate Gersten, Heather Hills,  Joanna Lara, Adam McCrory, Jack Monroe, Simon Page, Gloria Payne, Ian Pliske, Max Rhyser, Joshua Rubin, Amanda Sickler,  Don Williams, and Elsa Wolthausen. It was about a giant mutant eel running rampant.
The acting was abysmal and that's being kind.  The special effects were ok there was a lot of gore and action.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 1 1/2 to 2, substantially below average borderline poor.  

Terminator Salvation

Starring Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, Moon Bloodgood,  Helena Bonham Carter, Anton Yelchin, Jadagrace, Bryce Dallas Howard, Common, Jane Alexander, Michael Ironside, Ivan G'Vera, Chris Browning, Dorian Nkono, Beth Bailey, Victor J. Ho, Buster Reeves, Kevin Wiggins, Greg Serano, Po Chan,  Babak Tafti, Bruce McIntosh, Treva Etienne, Dylan Kenin,  Michael Papajohn, Chris Ashworth, Diego Joaquin Lopez, and  Greg Plitt.  It was another in the series of terminator movies pitting man vs machine.
The acting was pretty good.  The special effects were awesome.  The writing was pretty good with plenty of action sequences.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 - 4, above average.  

The Maiden Heist

Starring Morgan Freeman, Christopher Walken, William H. Macy, Marcia Gay Harden, Breckin Meyer, Wynn Everett,  Sophya Gudelman , Nicki Connors, Bates Wilder, and Joseph McKenna.  It was about some museum security guards that stole some artwork they were hired to protect.
The acting was good.  The writing only fair.  This movie kind of bored me. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 2 1/2-3, the low side of average.

Public Enemies

Starring James Russo, David Wenham, Christian Stolte, Jason Clarke, Johnny Depp, John Judd , Stephen Dorff, Michael Vieau , John Kishline, Channing Tatum, Christian Bale, Billy Crudup, Bill Camp, Stephen Graham, and Wesley Walker.  It was about John Dillinger.
The acting was good.  The writing was so so the movie dragged in parts.  The special effects were decent.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 - 3 1/2, average.

All about Steve

Starring Sandra Bullock, Thomas Haden Church, Bradley Cooper, Ken Jeong, DJ Qualls, Keith David, Howard Hesseman, Beth Grant, Katy Mixon, M.C. Gainey, Holmes Osborne,  Delaney Hamilton, and Jason Jones. It was about a woman that became overly obsessed with a guy after 1 date.
The acting was good.  It was well written with a good ending.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.

Starred Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver,  Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel Moore,  CCH Pounder, Wes Studi, and Laz Alonso. It was about a distant planet that earth forces were attempting to exploit for a rare mineral.
The acting was good, the special effects awesome, the programmers had a great eye for detail.  It was the typical evil corporation type of movie.  Kept expecting Steven Segal to be in it *L*.  Get past that the movie was actually pretty good.   On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates  4 - 4 1/2, substantially above average.

Jennifers Body

Starring Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried, Johnny Simmons,  Adam Brody, Sal Cortez, Ryan Levine, Juan Riedinger, Colin Askey, Chris Pratt, Juno Ruddell, and Kyle Gallner. It was about a possesed cheerleader that turns serial killer.  Warning it did have some bloody scenes.
The actging was fair.  The special effects I felt were mediocre.  In my opinion it was also poorly written.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent this movie rates a 2 1/2 - 3 the low side of average.  

Whip It

Starring Sarah Habel, Ellen Page, Shannon Eagen, Marcia Gay Harden, Edward Austin Austin, Mary Callaghan Lynch, Alia Shawkat, Barbara Coven, Eulala Scheel, Nina Kircher, Daniel Stern, Mark Boyd, Carlo Alban, Doug Minckiewicz, and Michael Petrillo.  It was about a young girl that was sort of a misfit entering the world of roller derby.
The acting was good.  The story line did unfold well.  However it was kind of predictable.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this story rates a 3 1/2 - 4, above average.  

G Force

Starring Bill Nighy, Sam Rockwell, Will Arnett, Jon Favreau,  Zach Galifianakis, Nicolas Cage, Kelli Garner, Penélope Cruz,  Tyler Patrick Jones,  Steve Buscemi, Piper Mackenzie Harris,  Gabriel Casseus, Tracy Morgan, Jack Conley, Niecy Nash,  Justin Mentell, Loudon Wainwright III, and Chris Ellis. It was about some FBI operatives that happened to be Guinea pigs.
The acting was ok.  The writing was fair.  However there was nothing special about the special effects.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 - 3 1/2, average.  

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt

Starring Jesse Metcalfe, Amber Tamblyn, Michael Douglas,  Joel Moore, Orlando Jones, Lawrence P. Beron, Sewell Whitney, David Jensen, Sharon London, Krystal Kofie, Randal Reeder, Ryan Glorioso, Jon McCarthy, Grant James, and Eric Gipson. It was about a D.A. that was just another sleazy politician.
The acting was good.  It was well written with an interesting twist at the end. The special effects were quite believable. On a scale of 1 to 5 with one being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a solid 4, above average.

American Pie: Book of Love

Horton, Brandon Hardesty, Melanie Papalia, Beth Behrs, John Patrick Jordan, Jennifer Holland,  Cindy Busby, Naomi Hewer, Eugene Levy, Louisa Lytton,  Rosanna Arquette, Curtis Armstrong , Edwin Perez, Nico McEown, Karin Konoval, Carrie Keagan, Meghan Feenstra,  Dwight Koss, Jennifer-Juniper Angeli, Sherman Hemsley, Jill Teed, and Adrienne Carter.  Another in the series of American Pie Movies.
The acting was fair.  In my opinion the writing was substandard. Out of all the American Pie Movies and I have watched many of them this was my least favoriite.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 2 - 2 1/2, below average.  

Couples Retreat

Starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone,  Abigail Breslin, Amber Heard, Bill Murray, and Derek Graf. The whole population turned into cannabalistic zombies with only a few human survivors.
The acting was decent.  The special effects were passable.  However the writing did not appear to be it's strong suit.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion the movie rated a 3 - 3 1/2, average.  

WARNING There was a lot of gore so if thats a problem you may want to give this movie a pass.

Starring Kate Beckinsale, Gabriel Macht, Tom Skerritt, Columbus Short, Alex O'Loughlin, Shawn Doyle, Joel S. Keller,  Jesse Todd, Arthur Holden, Erin Hickock, Bashar Rahal, and  Julian Cain. It was about a U.S. Marshal trying to solve a murder in an Antarctica research station.
The special effects were well done.  The acting was decent.  While there was plenty of action it was somewhat predictable.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 - 3 1/2, the high side of average.

Starring Luke Wilson, Gretchen Mol, David Koechner, Sasha Alexander, Bob Gunton, Rosemarie DeWitt, Michael Cudlitz,  William Bogert, Andrew Daly, Ellen Tobie, Zach Selwyn, Hilary Pingle, Nathan Pham, Van Hughes, and Lily Holleman.  It was about a small college professor that was attempting to get tenure.
The acting was fair.  It was poorly written and somewhat dull.  I should have known better than to rent a Luke Wilson movie.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rated a 2 - 2 1/2, below average.

The acting was good.  The special effects were awesome.  There was plenty of action and at times was a nail biter.  On a scale of 1 to 5 with 1 being poor and 5 excellent in my opinion this movie rates a 3 1/2 to 4, above average
